A few nights ago, I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around.

I marveled as we walked side-by-side into a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."

I looked around the area. Hundreds of angels busily sorted through stacks and stacks of petitions written on various sizes and kinds of paper - from tiny scraps to voluminous sheets, people from all over the world had sent in prayer requests.

We moved on down a long corridor until we reached another large section, "The Packaging and Delivery Section," the angel replied to my unasked question.

"And what do they do here?" I asked. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

Again, I noticed how busy the angels were, and how hard they worked at packaging the multitude of blessings to be sent to earth.

The angel and I moved along until we reached the doorway of a tiny room situated at the very end of the long corridor. I peered into the room, and to my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, doing absolutely nothing!

"What is this," I asked.

My angel friend seemed embarrassed as he quietly admitted, - "This is the Acknowledgment Section."

"Why is there not enough work here to keep even one angel busy?" I wondered.

"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, so few send back acknowledgments."

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked, thinking there might be some special requirements that the people of earth were unaware of.

"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord."

That was basically the same thing we were supposed to do to one another on earth when someone gave us something. I still didn't understand -

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.

"If you have food, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, a place to sleep .. you are richer than 75% of the world."

"If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy."

"If you own a computer, you are part of 1% of the world's population."

"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day."

"If you have never experienced the fear of battle; the loneliness of imprisonment; the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world"

"If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death .. you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world."

"If your parents are still alive and still married .. you are very rare."

"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you are unique to all those in doubt and despair."

"If you can read the list of blessings, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all."

"Ok, what now? How can I start? "

"Just say - Thank you Lord."

I bowed my head in humble acknowledgment -

"Thank you Lord, for giving me all the above mentioned blessing and so much more. Thank you for the ability and the opportunity to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with."

ATTN: Acknowledgment Department - Thank You Lord!

Bonnie M. Wells

But if it were I, - I would appeal to God; I would lay my cause before Him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted. (Job 5:8-9)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6).
