The body of a Marietta man has been positively identified on the West Coast by the FBI.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says in March of 2000, a family member filed a missing persons report concerning the disappearance of John Sprague.
Sprague was 36 at the time and had five outstanding felony warrants issued for his arrest.
Sheriff Mincks says the Sheriff's Department was notified Wednesday by the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office that the FBI had positively identified Sprague's body.
He says that a fingerprint identification system, called Live-Scan, identified a "John Doe" who had died in their jurisdiction in September of '99 as John Sprague.
Sprague died of an Oxycodone drug overdose.
