Triangle UFO Hovers Over Lake Erie

Presented By

Bonnie M. Wells

An Ohio witness lying on a boat pier at Lake Erie December 26, 2009 described a triangle-shaped UFO that hovered, moved slowly, and then disappeared, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The sighting lasted "several minutes" while the witness was talking on his cell phone.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Ohio MUFON investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update. {MUFON Case # 21324.}

I saw a triangle flashing multicolored object that appeared suddenly in the northeastern clear sky over Lake Erie on 12-26-09 at approx. 9 pm. Hovered silently then moved slowly over the lake heading west. Stopped again over head and vanished.

This occured while I was laying on our boat pier the night after Christmas watching the stars on a super clear calm night. I was talking to a friend on the phone who later helped me recall the details I described to him and the length of time it took place. I remember nervously joking on the phone with him as it was happening that I was all alone in an isolated place and what if they just decided to "beam me up", that was when it slowed to a stop for the second time directly over head paused for a second or two and then vanished. I made a half joking comment to him about wondering if they were listening in to our phone conversation before taking off.

It lasted only a few min. but the occurrence was so amazing because there was almost no wind blowing on the beach and the lake was super calm, yet the object did not have any sound like the rest of the planes that I was watching that night flying over the lake.

There was a lot of air traffic in the sky being the day after Christmas and this was coming from an odd angle and in the opposite direction of the other planes. Also it did not continually move at times or have the right color lights or right blinking sequence of lights like a regular aircraft. Plus the shape was a triangle with no apparent row of lights along the widest bottom part. It looked flat black and was solid so as to block out any stars it passes over.

I was lying very still for over 15 mins. On the pier just enjoying the beautiful clear night's sky before it first caught my attention in the corner of my eye. I just continued to lay there in amazment while describing it to my friend on the phone. He told me to take a picture but I figured that by the time I brought up the app on my iPhone it would be gone and I figured the phone wouldn't get a decent picture in the middle of the black night sky with no flash. Plus I was kind of shocked and could only watch and tell my friend what I was seeing I might have tried if I had my regular digital camera with me but it all seemed to happen so fast, I just couldn't take my eyes off of it while it was happening.

It was so distinct, I'm sure I wasn't the only person to see such a strange sighting over the lake. I don't know if this had anything to do with anything, but right after it disapeared, clouds rolled in and a dense blanket of fog rolled onto shore from the north off the lake. The temp dropped sharply with the fog appearance and the rolling cloud cover although it had been crystal clear for the 3 hours I had spent there.

A Few Comments From The Article:

John says:

I have Lived 2 minutes from a pier on Lake Erie all of my life.

I too have seen many strange things.

I never go to the lake at night alone so everything I have seen, has been confirmed with a friend, or friends I am with.

One night we saw an orange orb/circle if you will out on the horizon, joking about it being a UFO, I held my finger up to see if the object was moving, it wasnt. It did not move for approximately 5/10 minutes, all of a sudden it began to move, It was moving about two to three times faster than a plane, did a 180 and went south of us, until we could no longer see it.

I've also seen the same orange shape disappear on different occasions.

Whether allows you to feel more truth behind my post, I consider myself to be about as "normal" as they come, Im not really interested in UFO's, or paranormal activity but have an open mind to it.

I don't go looking for sightings, or wait for them to happen, but I do spend time at the lake, and I have seen unexplainable things.

I do wish they could have estimated it's size, light pattern & light colors. Also which lights were blinking etc.

I don't doubt this story, but if you discover your story here please give us some more details if you can remember any. Thanks for reporting.

I'm glad you were on the phone with a friend, this may have saved you. If they would have taken you, your friend would have known. So no missing time here. Being alone with it stopping above you, the phone may have saved you much agony of an abduction. We may never know.

I'd like how this person spoke of feelings, I'm sure they held back in these regards too. In fear others will simply reticule them.

With Beings that are Telepathic, feelings are key components to report.

*When a large Triangle came right over me........ I also was on the phone describing it to a friend, which is a MUFON Investigator now. Due to my sighting. We have been best of friends for 23 years.

A triangle shaped UFO with 'headlights' much like those on a car, and red, recessed lights on the belly of the craft, with small, blinking white/clear lights on the rear corners, {but no green running lights!} has been spotted in the southeastern Ohio area many, many times over the past 25 years.

Along about 1986 I named 'him' Scotty!

I figured if I ever needed 'beamed up,' I'd know who to call!

Crazy as this sounds, I honestly believe 'Scotty' knows his name and appreciates it!

I also believe whoever, or whatever is inside the craft has exceptional hearing because I have actually called this craft from great distances and had it come directly to me within seconds!

I know, this sounds crazy, but I have several witnesses... most of whom are non-believers .... or perhaps I should say 'were non-believers!' All of my personal experiences have been documented, complete with witness names, times and dates, and are called my Scotty Series.
